Hello :)

Hello everyone,
Just a little post to say all is going along as usual, although everything here is very dry so the farmers are not too happy. The crops will have a low yield this year and some are cutting it for hay instead of harvesting. This photo shows our canola crop in the background.  We've sent three loads of lambs off to market recently which eases the feed situation. Hopefully we'll get some decent late spring rain! We've been doing a lot of pre fire season clean-up too. Burning off and clearing undergrowth etc. Work has been busy as usual and there's still the house renovating to do so there's never enough hours in the day. Anyway, that's all for now. I hope all is well with you. Cheerio, Clare.

Flow Magazine

Hello there! I found the most wonderful magazine while browsing in the newsagent a few weeks ago. It caught my eye because it had a beautiful matt cover image and an icon saying "a magazine that takes its time". When I flicked through the pages there were fabulous articles on simplifying your life, living mindfully, inspiring quote pages, postcards and a 30 day notebook. I was so impressed I looked up their website and ordered a couple of back issues - all the way from the Netherlands. When they arrived I devoured them in a couple of hours and had to order more back copies! I think they appeal to me so much because they combine my love of stationary and magazines. I am also feeling a bit lost at the moment so needed something to make me re-focus and be grateful for my life.  I hope all is well in your part of the world! Best wishes, C x          www.flowmagazine.com

Bargain 1960 sideboard

Hellooo!
Recently one of our neighbours sold their farm and held a clearing sale. As well as lots of farm equipment there was also quite a few items of old furniture. We managed to buy this lovely sideboard for only $10! I found a makers stamp on it "Pattison 1960". How fabulous! I gave it a clean and polish and here it is in our living room with my lovely West Elm lamps and new Voyager sofa. Don't you love a great bargain? C x

Shelving

Hello everyone, where does the time go?!
Just a quick post to show you my lovely new circle shelf from Bride and Wolfe. I've been coveting this shelf for months and months and finally decided to go for it. It looks just like I imagined and gives the room a nice lift.  We went to a clearing sale recently and bought a fantastic 1960's sideboard for $10 that I plan to rejuvenate and place under the shelf with a lamp at either end.  Everything else is going along as usual here - we've had a little rain recently which was good as it's been bone dry for a ages.  Hope all is well in your part of the world!  C x

Willy Wagtail

Hello peeps :)
Look at these lovely little Willy Wagtail chicks squished into their nest in our lemon tree. The parents were very annoyed at me for taking their photo - flapping around my head, tick ticking at me & snapping their beaks. Isn't the nest amazing too. Hope all is well with you! Cheerio, C x

Early mornings...

Hellooo,
The last two Sunday's hubby has dragged me out of bed at 4.30am (I'm not a morning person so this event has been quite traumatic!) to go to a swap meet. Last Sunday it was an hour and half away in a little town called Dunolly, this Sunday it was another little town a similar distance away called Talbot. He absolutely loves swap meets where he can search for automotive bargains and other interesting things. Luckily for me I've managed to find a few little treasures too - these will probably end up in my Etsy shop. On our way back yesterday we went home via Clunes which is a historic little town with lots of old bookshops. It's nice to get out and explore every now and then. Anyway I hope all is well in your part of the amazing world. Love, Clare.

Bathroom cabinet

Hello there,
I bought this lovely little cabinet from Temple & Webster awhile ago and it finally arrived this week. I put it together today and have popped it in the lounge room for the moment. The new bathroom is still weeks away - I was going to use this for towels and beauty products etc. Should look nice I reckon!
I'm off to Daylesford tomorrow - lunch with my sisters, then we're staying the night in a little house. Will be great to catch up! Hope all is well with you and your family. Love, Clare.

Vintage shopping

Hellooo... we had a couple of days of lovely warmth and sunshine recently which was lovely. I think I was getting a bit of winter blues. Last weekend I made the trek to mum's place and we went to the local  market which is full of all sorts of things from fruit & veg to bric-a-brac. I found a few treasures for my little Etsy store which was fun. I was particularly taken with this little condiment set. Sometimes I find things that I don't really want to part with! Anyway, hope all is well in your world. Cheerio, Clare.

I made a garland...

Hello! I was pottering around the front room on the weekend feeling a little creative and decided to make a garland. I punched these little flowers from some scrapbooking paper, folded them in half and with double-sided tape attached them to a piece of string. Cute hey? I was going to list them on Etsy but decided to send them to my lovely friend Sally for her little girls room. It's so easy and such a pretty look... and good for the soul!  Anyway, hope all is well with you. Cheerio, Clare.

Bathroom dreams...

So I've been planning the bathroom renovation for months now and have slowly bought all the products I need to complete the job. The only hitch is that we need somewhere else to shower while this one is being done. Lyndon decided an outdoor bathroom would do the trick. Six months later I'm still waiting for it to be finished... sigh.  So yesterday I decided to take matters into my own hands and I excavated the floor. As you can see from the photo one wall is up and so is the plumbing. We just need the floor concreted and the sewer pipe plumbed in, the shower base installed, the other walls built on... none of which I can do.  Oh well, they say good things come to those who wait!

In the meantime I will keep dreaming of my lovely new bathroom and it's lovely clean fresh newness!    Here is the pedestal basin... isn't is fabulous?! Cheerio till next time, Clare :)

Watching TV

Hello! Yes, I'm still here. Just the usual busyness of life hindering me from blogging.
We've had some amazing winter days here - lots of sun and crisp frosty morning. Today the wind and rain has arrived (of which the farmers are happy about) and the roads are muddy.
Last weekend I had a little getaway to Daylesford with mum & sister Julie. We stayed in a lovely cottage, enjoyed a spot of shopping and ate a delicious lunch!
Did I tell you we have a new addition to our family? This is Papuss watching TV. He makes me smile every day - doesn't everyone need something like that in their life?! Anyway I hope all is well in your part of the world. Cheerio, Clare.

Holiday heaven

Hello blog friends! We enjoyed a lovely two week holiday in northern NSW recently. Here's a photo of one beautiful location we visited. We stayed in a little cottage on the river and apart from noisy neighbours had a great time. It took me 3-4 days to stop thinking about work but after that I was able to relax and enjoy my surroundings. Now we're back home and slap bang back into the craziness of life again!
We also have a new addition to our family - a kitten called MrPuss. He's a funny thing full of meow and the usual kitten characteristics. LittleDog has accepted him easily and they are good friends already.
Anyway best be off to hang out the washing. It's windy here today and there are a couple of fires around - stubble burns that have got away. Hope all is well in your part of the world! Clare x

Cooee

Cooee is an Australian call used to attract attention or indicate one's own location! I'm still here, just struggling to find the time to blog, as usual. Everything is well here. We are busy mostly working and renovating the bathroom. I can't wait for it to be finished!
We're heading north soon for a few weeks holiday in a little town called Mylestom. I'm soooo looking forward to relaxing, walking along the beach, etc. I haven't had a holiday since this time last year.
Hope all is well in your part of the world! Cheerio for now, C ♥

Bedhead heaven

Hello peeps!
Just thought I would quickly share my new wonderful bedhead with you all. Isn't it lovely?! It really finishes the room off now we also have the built-in-robe installed too. The great people at Heatherly Design made the bedhead for me. I am now in the middle of stripping back the outside of the french doors so I can paint them. Huge job but it will be worth it in the end!  Hope all is well in your part of the world. C ♥
